Dear Scott and Juli,

My wedding cake delivery horror story began with a fairly simple 4 tiered stacked round cake. I stayed up all night long working on this cake, painstakingly smoothing all of the icing and piping on a spiral pattern over the entire 4 layers. I was so excited the whole time I was decorating knowing that I had "nailed" the look the bride was after....and thinking about how truly happy she was going to be when she saw her beautiful cake. The cake was boxed up in a standard cardboard box and several dowels were placed through the center of all the cakes to ensure they wouldn't attempt to move or possibly topple over. Upon reaching the venue and retrieving the cake from my van I noticed the top tier was sort of leaning against the side of the box (no problem, I have extra icing I'll just touch it up)...well, this was the beginning of the nightmare. Long story short, the cake was in complete disrepair and the matching sheetcake that was to only be for extra servings wound up BEING the wedding cake, along with the top cake that I was able to salvage (kind of...it wound up having to have tacky ribbon around the edge to hide all of the distress from the cakes that collapsed ). I will attach before and after photos for your cringing enjoyment! This poor bride was so completely gracious and understanding and never ONCE complained or even let on that she had even ordered a tiered wedding cake. She was refunded all of her money for the tiered cake and I wound up remaking a miniature version for her on her one year anniversary, but I can't help but wonder how the cakesafe may have changed her wedding day and changed my entire caking career!

Tina is now the proud owner of a small/tall CakeSafe which was delivered by hand by Scott & Juli on Monday 1/25. For the work that Tina does, she decided that the small/tall box would fit her needs best. Any winner of a CakeSafe in our contest will receive the box that best suits their needs.
